One of my most favorite spots on earth is Jökulsárlón and Diamond Beach. The glacier Vatnajokull is slowly melting into the sea, and pieces break off into the lagoon. The pieces are pinned in the lagoon by the inrushing tide, and as the tides go back out, the baby glaciers float out to sea, then wash up on the black sand beach, sparkling like diamonds in the sun.
